JOB SUMMARY
The Community Health Worker (CHW) – Mobile Team will support the delivery of essential community-based health services through mobile outreach activities. The role focuses on health awareness, basic health support, identification of health needs, and referral of community members to appropriate health services, particularly in shelters and hard-to-reach areas. The CHW will act as a vital link between the mobile health team and the community to promote health, prevention, and early detection of health concerns.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support mobile health team activities by participating in outreach visits to shelters and community locations.
- Conduct basic health awareness and education sessions for community members on key health topics (e.g., hygiene promotion, maternal and child health, disease prevention), as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist in identifying individuals with health needs and facilitating referrals to mobile clinics or fixed health facilities when required.
- Support basic health screening activities (e.g., identifying symptoms, measuring vital signs if trained) under the supervision of qualified health staff.
- Provide guidance to community members on available health services and how to access them.
- Act as a liaison between the mobile health team and the community to ensure effective communication and trust.
- Support the organization and flow of beneficiaries during mobile health activities to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Monitor and report any health risks, urgent cases, or protection concerns observed in the community to the supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records and basic reporting related to outreach activities, as required.
- Participate in training, briefings, and debriefings organized by the project team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Should have the following skills, education, and experience:
- A background or interest in community health, nursing, public health, or related fields is an asset.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse community members.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a mobile team and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work under pressure in challenging environments.
- Commitment to humanitarian and community health principles.
- Proficiency in Arabic is required; basic literacy and reporting skills are preferred.
