Job Title: Nutrition Supply Chain Assistant
Job location: Palestine, Gaza (Middle & South, North)
Reports to: Programs Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
The Nutrition Supply Chain Assistant supports the logistics and procurement functions specific to nutrition and food assistance programs under the supervision of the Logistics & Procurement Coordinator. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant handling, tracking, and storage of nutrition commodities in line with MedGlobal’s internal policies and donor regulations.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and inspect nutrition-related deliveries (e.g., therapeutic foods, micronutrient powders, fortified products) to ensure quantity, quality, and documentation compliance.
- Verify delivery notes and waybills for completeness and accuracy before signing.
- Handle and store specialized nutrition commodities in accordance with temperature control and shelf -life requirements.
- Assist in inventory organization, including unpacking, shelving, and stock rotation based on expiry dates (FEFO).
- Prepare and dispatch nutrition supplies to field clinics and distribution points as per approved requests.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing for all inventory movements, damages, and returns.
- Support monthly physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with the database.
- Maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness of storage facilities, especially areas storing food items.
- Report issues such as spoilage, stock-outs, and pest infestations immediately to the supervisor.
- Collaborate closely with medical and nutrition teams to ensure timely replenishment of nutrition stock and kits.
- Participate in coordination meetings and training related to nutrition logistics and supply chain best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- University degree is a must, preferably in logistics, nutrition, public health, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse/logistics operations, preferably in nutrition or health programs.
- Understanding of food safety, cold chain, and inventory principles relevant to nutrition programs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures for handling sensitive commodities.
- Good teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to use stock management tools (manual or digital) and generate simple inventory reports.
- Physically capable of lifting and organizing stock, including during high-demand periods.
- Familiarity with humanitarian supply chain practices and donor compliance (e.g., UNICEF, WFP) is a plus.
