Job Title: Logistics Assistant

Job location: Palestine, Gaza (On-site)

Reports to: Project Officer

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Logistics Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the logistics operations of the project by assisting the team with all aspects of supply, transportation, and inventory management. The Logistics Assistant will contribute to the efficient management and coordination of goods and equipment, providing logistical support to various projects. Their tasks will range from tracking shipments to distributing materials and ensuring smooth storage and movement of supplies.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in managing and coordinating all transportation and supply operations for projects.
  • Track shipments and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Provide logistical support during field events, such as distributing materials and setting up locations.
  • Assist in organizing warehouse storage for materials and equipment, ensuring safe and organized storage.
  • Coordinate with local suppliers and distributors to ensure required supplies are available.
  • Monitor inventory levels and provide regular reports on stock levels of materials and equipment.
  • Assist in organizing and executing shipping and unloading operations.
  • Participate in preparing logistical reports and ensure their accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate material and equipment requests with the direct supervisor.
  • Provide logistical support to the team during training or field activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all local laws related to transportation and storage of goods.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the team to ensure proper coordination with other ongoing projects.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Should have the following skills, education, and experience:

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field.
  • Resident of Gaza with strong ties to the local community.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, preferably in a humanitarian or non-profit setting.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or proficiency with Excel is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Proficiency in Arabic; basic knowledge of English is an advantage.
