Media Officer

- Photography & Videography: Capture high-quality, dynamic images and videos that highlight humanitarian work, beneficiaries, and field activities; set up appropriate lighting, backdrops, and equipment to ensure professional-grade shots; and conduct video interviews with beneficiaries, staff, and volunteers, ensuring clear audio and visual quality.
- Storytelling & Content Creation: Provide timely photo and video updates from the field to support social media, newsletters, and campaigns; write compelling captions that accurately describe the context and impact of the work being documented; and develop success stories by interviewing beneficiaries and field staff, crafting engaging narratives that highlight the organization’s impact.
- Organization & File Management: Maintain a well-organized archive of photos and videos, ensuring easy retrieval for future use; properly label and categorize media files with relevant metadata, including date, location, and subject; and ensure all content adheres to ethical guidelines and respects the dignity and privacy of subjects.
- Collaboration & Compliance: Work closely with the communications and marketing team to align visual content with campaign goals; follow brand guidelines to maintain a consistent look and feel across all visual materials; and stay updated on the latest trends in photography, videography, and digital storytelling to enhance content quality.
- Post-Production & Editing: Edit and assemble video content, field updates, and interviews into final deliverables; handle adding subtitles, visual elements, and retouching using standard software such as Premiere Pro and DaVinci; and manage the post-production workflow to ensure rapid turnaround times using tools such as Trello or Tracker.
- A bachelor’s degree in media, communications, journalism, digital media, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years of proven experience in photography and videography, preferably in a humanitarian or nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency in photo and video editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong storytelling skills with the ability to capture emotionally compelling content.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in challenging environments.
- Excellent organizational and file management skills.
- Understanding of ethical photography and videography practices in humanitarian work.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Willingness to travel to field locations and work in difficult conditions.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the team.
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
