Job Title: Pediatric Doctor

Job location: Palestine, Gaza (On-Site)

Reports to: Project Coordinator

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Pediatric Doctor will be responsible for providing specialized medical care to children as part of the health and nutrition emergency relief response in Gaza. This includes diagnosing and treating pediatric conditions, performing health assessments, and developing treatment plans. The Pediatric Board Doctor will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of children affected by the recent crisis, with a focus on addressing malnutrition and related health issues.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide specialized medical care to children, including diagnosis and treatment of pediatric conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the health status of children and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, nutritionists, and midwives, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Educate caregivers on child health, nutrition, and preventive care practices.
  • Participate in community outreach and health education activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all pediatric patients.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on pediatric health activities, progress, and challenges.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Should have the following skills, education, and experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical with board certification in Pediatrics.
  • Valid license to practice medicine in Gaza.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pediatric care, preferably in a community or emergency setting.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric healthcare practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and potentially high-stress environment.
  • Proficiency in Arabic; knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Commitment to MedGlobal’s mission and values.
  • Knowledge of local health systems and community resources.
  • Experience working in conflict or post-conflict settings.
  • Ability to train and mentor other healthcare staff and community volunteers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under the supervision of project staff.
  • Willingness to engage in fieldwork and outreach activities.
