JOB SUMMARY
The Project Officer will support the implementation of a nutrition-focused project targeting children under five, as well as pregnant and lactating women. The role includes day-to-day coordination of activities, particularly the distribution of nutrition supplements, ensuring alignment with project plans and standards.
The Project Officer will assist in data collection, reporting, and monitoring to track progress and ensure accountability, while coordinating with partners and health facilities to ensure effective and timely service delivery.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate day-to-day project activities to ensure alignment with project objectives and effective implementation in the field.
  • Coordinate with supply chain partners and service providers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Promote effective teamwork and ensure tasks are carried out in a coordinated and cohesive manner.
  • Plan, supervise, and oversee the daily implementation of activities, particularly the distribution of nutrition supplements to targeted beneficiaries.
  • Ensure distributions are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in line with approved targeting criteria and guidelines.
  • Support the design and implementation of a simple surveillance and reporting system through Community Health Workers (CHWs) to track beneficiary status and key nutrition indicators.
  • Ensure alignment and coordination of reporting systems and health-related activities with the Ministry of Health.
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal control procedures, including maintaining risk logs and applying mitigation measures.
  • Provide regular and daily updates to the Programs specialist on progress, challenges, and key achievements.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze project data related to beneficiaries, distributions, and nutrition outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and data systems.
  • Prepare progress reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support project visibility efforts, including documentation and development of communication materials as required.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices to improve project implementation and learning.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization and relevant coordination platforms.
  • Represent the organization in meetings and coordination forums with partners and relevant authorities when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Should have the following skills, education, and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, Nutrition, Nursing, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Accounting, or any other related field is required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience with NNGOs or INGOs in emergency or humanitarian programs, preferably in nutrition, health, or community-based interventions.
  • Previous experience in data collection, reporting, or basic surveillance systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with partners, health facilities, and stakeholders at different levels.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and propose practical solutions.
  • Good data management skills with attention to accuracy, confidentiality, and detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word); experience with data tools is an advantage.
